There’s no mistaking that it’s December, with our Facebook news feeds suddenly filled with Christmas trees and advent calendars (which finally means it acceptable for us to eat chocolate for breakfast every day).

Christmas is a busy time of year for us all, and it always seems like an impossible task trying to fit in copious amounts of Christmas meals with friends, family and colleagues, as well as the task of battling through the crowds to get your Christmas shopping done.

This season is without a doubt one of the busiest times of year for retailers, and it’s a fantastic opportunity for brands to get creative, engage with customers and spread a bit of festive cheer.

Tesco was one of the first brands to hit the headlines with its experiential marketing campaign this Christmas, with the return of ‘Mince Pie Man’, who will be travelling across the country delivering 18,000 packs of mince pies to customers’ doors. But don’t worry if you’re out, because you will be kindly left with a voucher to take into store.

Cadbury’s is also helping customers get into the festive spirit, with the Cadbury’s Angels out in full force in central Birmingham today, giving out free chocolate to passers-by (we are a little upset we missed out). The streets of Birmingham are rather busy now with the return of the popular German Market, so to make sure the Cadbury Angels were seen, they were accompanied by the Cadbury Choir.

We know a thing or two about experiential marketing, and this summer was one of our busiest yet, delivering over 1,100 experiential events supporting the McDonald’s ‘good times’ campaign. Armed with McFlurry ball pits, an inflatable human football table and lots of goodies to give away, we turned up at parks and beaches across the UK unannounced, to bring some unexpected fun to the Great British public. Of course we knew we couldn’t rely on the British weather, so we had ‘Big Mac Rain Macs’ to give away and stop the rain from ruining our fun! We also had lots of fun games and prizes to give away in McDonald’s restaurants, giving customers a memorable experience.

Experiential campaigns are a fantastic way to engage with customers, giving them a memorable experience, and if done well, they will remember your brand fondly.
