The team at Lime loves a challenge – particularly when it comes to delivering creative ideas for clients
Which is why one of our favourite times of year is National Share a Story Month, an event that has become firmly established on the calendar every year.
In the first half of every year, it has proved an excellent way to “celebrate storytelling and how powerful it can be.”
We couldn’t agree more – and we can prove our love of story sharing too! With our client McDonald’s, we helped deliver almost 300 events across the UK as part of their Happy Readers campaign, an initiative based on all aspects of storytelling, which gives away millions of books to families.
Lime helped bring the campaign to life by putting a host of fun and engaging activities in front of kids and families. These included:
- Story Corner: Reading to youngsters and giving them props such as police hats, torches, wigs and masks to represent the characters they were reading about.
- Story Board: Children were given a selection of words that were missing from a story printed on a large poster, and were encouraged to find where each word was meant to be (often with hilarious results!)
- Story Book: Kids read short stories and quickly became very keen to write their own on the back of that.
Lime’s head of Experiential, James Newlan, said: “The feedback from every single session was very positive, with 100 per cent of families saying that the storytelling was their favourite campaign activity. It’s great to see that National Share a Story Month, and activities like the ones we’ve undertaken with McDonald’s, are proving so popular with kids and families. Storytelling is such a fun way to bring families even closer together, and enables children (and adults!) to unleash their imagination.”
Which is great news all round, and we all love a story with a happy ending, right?
